Who is Robin Banks
Robin Banks began his career at the age of 15. He plays several instruments and for 17 years he made his living as a full-time drummer touring throughout the North East with several Central New York bands. In 1992 Banks was diagnosed with a hearing condition known as tinnitus. Robin gave up live performances and shifted his career goals away from the music industry. 10 years later a friend was using his PC to record a short work and a skeptical Robin set out to demonstrate that computers could not record as effectively as a studio and live musicians. In the end the computer proved him wrong and he set out on a new path
to record his own music. The evolution of home recording has enabled Robin Banks to renew his lifelong passion for music and renew his relationship with fans.

What is Tinnitus
Tinnitus ( ti-night-us) is the medical term for the perception of sound in one or both ears or in the head when no external sound is present. It is often referred to as "ringing in the ears," although some people hear hissing, roaring, whistling, chirping, or clicking. Tinnitus can be intermittent or constant, with single or multiple tones, its perceived volume can range from subtle to shattering. It is a common problem, affecting about 17% of the population worldwide. Millions of Americans have hearing loss due to noise exposure, and up to 90 percent of all tinnitus patients have some level of noise-induced hearing loss. Tinnitus is also an occupational hazard of musicians in the rock business.
